Great article Jack! So often we forget to look in the mirror. This is over used but very true: Hate the sin, love the sinner.

Hey Jon. For the members that are involved in the group they send cards with a simple “thinking of you” message. For me, I usually call the people and just see what is going on in their lives. About 90% of the time they respond with a “things have been busy” or “I have been sick” response which I understand and I almost always see them the following Sunday. Now whether or not that was the real reason why they weren’t coming I do not know but sometimes all it takes to get people out of a spiritual funk is for them to know that someone cares. Beyond that I try to make myself as open as I can to allow them to tell me what is going on in their lives because I really do want to help if I can. But most of the time they know that they should be there so their guilt plus my care gets them coming back. My biggest concern is that they might remain in this spiritually weak condition and never reach out to get help or more knowledge to strengthen their faith.

Gabe, I was actually the one filming all of these studies. Glad people are still watching them. Wish I could remake these with better equipment now.

Amie, the Light vs. Darkness study is one that one of my friends put together. I was actually converted through it and it is very good. It just isn’t published anywhere. Email me and I can get it to you. chris@strongchurch.org

I think what meant was that we don’t have to go out of our way to make them our best friends. More of the idea that we need to treat them the same as we treat anyone else. We are all sinners and many other types of sins don’t make us treat people different like the way homosexuality does.
